"Ruby Hues Range"
Q. My kit is miss-shaped, what can I do? A. Occasionally the vinyl kits will go out of shape in transit, it is ALWAYS advisable to submerge any kit into boiling water for 3 minuets before you start painting, this allows the vinyl to re-form and take on its original form. Please remember not all kits are sculpted with the head "square" on the neck, some heads are sculpted at a tilt, and this is reflected in the vinyl. If you are not sure if this is the case, you can hold the head in your hands and cover up the neck area, tilt the head and you will find that the face will take on a whole new appearance. Q. My kit has a defect, what do I do? A. If you find a defect in your kit, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery. You might want to try giving the kit a good wash in hot soapy water, whilst every effort is made to ensure your kits have been checked and cleaned, occasionally some residue may still be evident from the factory, a good wash will often remove any residue and your kit will be perfect again. If you find other imperfection, please contact us. Occasionally what is deemed a defect by a Reborn Artist, is, in some cases and intentional feature of the kit, so please email if you are worried.
"Disclaimer" *As the Art of Reborning has developed, so have the techniques used by each individual Artist. Please be aware that although it is common practise to paint vinyl doll kits with paints which require heat to set, by law we are compelled to pass on the information to our customers concerning VOC's. These are Volatile Organic Compounds which can be released from vinyl whilst it is being heated. Although there is no scientific evidence to date that this may happen when heating vinyl to 150 degrees. We as a Company, Teachers and Artists advise caution if carrying out this practise. Simply Reborn Ltd. Individuals are responsible for their own health and safety. We advise to work with either a heat gun "outdoors" or in a very well naturally ventilated Area. Or even safer to use a separate oven (not one which is used for food) in, again, an outside area or naturally ventilated area.
