I first came across Reborns on a pet fancy rat forum I was a member
of when a fellow member posted pictures of her mums reborn
collection . Most of the members were freaked out about the realism
whereas I was desperate for more information. Within 24 hours I had
purchased my first reborn. It only took me about 2 weeks after
receiving my first reborn before I decided to try my hand at
reborning a doll. I first started reborning with acrylics but made
a complete mess as the paint
would dry too quickly so my reborn looked very patchy and streaky. I
was also unsure what mohair was needed and my first practice doll
had glued on mohair wool. what a disaster that was.... I then
researched the techniques of reborning dolls and once I had a better
idea of what I was doing I tried again. I couldn't get on with
acrylics so tried genesis paints and never looked back. When I
first started using genesis I used the premixed colours but now mix
my own colours.
I
am registered disabled due to M.E. and Fibromyalgia and find
reborning very therapeutic. I love this art form and hope to
continue to build on my skills and create ultra realistic babies. I
have found my skills have improved greatly since joining Simply
Reborn in November 2008 as they have lots of online tutorials and
friendly ladies always willing to give advice and critique. I am
also a registered user of the ERA guild and Reborn Angels.
I can accept the occasional custom order, prices would depend on the
sculpt chosen. Please feel free to contact me if you would like a
quote for a custom reborn.
I normally offer my Reborns for sale via my website and also on eBay
under the username Littlecritterz.
